Residence
My husband and I were looking at a prominent historic home in downtown Macon, Georgia. It was our second time walking through the property. While my husband and the listing agent continued exploring the basement and stepped out into the backyard, I stayed behind, sitting in a small bar area below the house.
At some point, I noticed the shadow of a man pass by the doorway. I remember thinking, oh that must be my husband coming back inside. I turned to look, and that is when it hit me. My husband and the agent were still outside, deep in conversation in the yard, nowhere near the entrance to the house.
Later on, I spoke with someone who had previously lived in the home. Without prompting, he mentioned seeing shadow figures himself, along with other unexplained activity while he lived there.
I can tell you this. Downtown Macon, especially the historic district, carries a lot of energy. The people I know who own homes there have very specific stories. Sometimes the activity is subtle and easy to dismiss. Other times it is not subtle at all. It is actually pretty common to hear someone casually say they have a ghost, or maybe a few, like it is just another quirk of the neighborhood.
