Switch Macon is known for transforming its downtown Macon, Georgia, bar into an entirely different experience throughout the year. But behind the elaborate Halloween decorations, owners Jordan Kirksey and Chasen Smith have heard stories that have nothing to do with the seasonal atmosphere.
Unexplained footsteps in an empty upstairs space, a man’s voice heard in an unoccupied restroom, and unusual activity captured on basement security cameras have raised questions about what might be happening inside the historic building.
When Echoes of the South host Carrie Genzel arrives with spiritual medium Morrighan Lynne and lead investigator Jonathan Morgan, the team begins exploring the building’s reported activity. But almost immediately, Morrighan senses something unexpected. What she initially interprets as a protective presence soon appears to be something far more troubling, an entity she believes is interfering with the spirits inside the building.
Downstairs, the investigation takes an emotional turn.
Morrighan describes a violent encounter between two men she identifies as Ted and Daniel. According to her impressions, an argument ended in an accidental death, leaving one man trapped in a cycle of guilt and regret. As the team attempts to communicate with both men, questions emerge about forgiveness, self-punishment, and what might prevent someone from finding peace.
But the investigation takes another unexpected turn when Morrighan believes an unwelcome entity is holding Ted captive. Calling upon Archangel Michael, she attempts to remove the presence and help Ted find his way forward.
And what begins as an investigation of one downtown bar soon raises questions about something much larger.
Morrighan recognizes similarities between the entities she believes are present at Switch and those encountered during the team’s earlier experiences at The Grand Opera House. Could these encounters be connected? And might the unexplained activity reported throughout downtown Macon be part of a much broader mystery?
The team arrived at Switch expecting to explore the stories of a haunted building. They left with a new mystery to investigate.
